After a lifetime of battling my own health issues, working ten years in the healthcare field and watching friends and family suffer from many preventable diseases I have decided to share my story and the insights I have learned about healthcare in the United States. I want to share what I have learned academically and from experience to help you figure out and navigate a system that is broken.
I hope to encourage people to take responsibility for their own health, healthcare and wellbeing. One thing that must be understood is that ultimately each of us are individually responsible for our own health and even if you suffer from something you have no choice or control over, like I do, you still have to educate yourself and unfortunately your health care team about what YOU need to get better.
Never rely solely on your doctor. You know your body better than anyone else. Trust your intuition. And always remember that a doctor that graduates at the bottom of his class is still called DOCTOR.
